Rancho Bernardo Inn Brunch: Sweet and Savory
If you’re looking for a brunch spot with a mix of sweet and savory options, Rancho Bernardo Inn has you covered. We visited RBI in the early Fall and hadn’t been here in quite a few years. We were pleasantly surprised by this delicious brunch and champagne buffet.
It’s huge! RBI calls it a Tastemaker’s Paradise for good reason.

What's to Eat at RBI Sweet and Savory Brunch?
Just about everything you can imagine. I’m a traditional breakfast eater, but my husband, John, is not. He hates eggs. Fortunately, there were plenty of choices, like the sushi bar that offered everything from sushi rolls to sashimi, poached shrimp, and crab claws. John was in Heaven!
RBI's Savory Entrees
From RBI’s signature entree selection, I loved their chicken fricassee. Made with leek mushroom fondue, it was gluten-free, and it rocked! 🙌 I had it with the grilled asparagus and then returned for seconds because why not?
Rancho Bernardo Inn brunch included other signature entrees in their buffet, like braised short ribs; they looked terrific, but I was stuck on the chicken fricassee. A smoked green chili rigatoni was topped with bacon, parmesan, and parsley. John really liked the paella, which was gluten-free and dairy-free and had shrimp, chorizo, chicken, and peppers in it.
RBI's Sweet Treats were off the Hook!
The desserts were delish! I absolutely loved the cute little crème brûlée. It was miniature, so I didn’t really feel like I was stuffing myself. That also meant I could try a couple more treats, like the chocolate mousse — so good, not too sweet, just perfect!
RBI Brunch: Take in the View and Plan to Stay a While
RBI’s brunch is the perfect place to eat slowly and enjoy the view. While the food was great, the atmosphere and beautiful landscape were even prettier than I remembered.
We sat in a covered outdoor area overlooking part of the golf course; another outdoor dining area was below.
A stone-surrounded fireplace and patio heaters kept us warm on a cool Fall day. The big orange-hued light fixtures hanging from a wood-paneled ceiling and the black zig-zag patterned floor gave the room a contemporary, stylish, and yet quaint feel.
Rancho Bernardo Inn offers the kind of brunch you’ll want to block off a few hours to enjoy. Make it an event. Bring a group of friends, and stay for a while. Revisit your favorite food stations and relax with a glass of champagne always filled to the top.
Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, you’re sure to find a satisfying dish. With a beautiful outdoor seating area and attentive service, it’s the perfect spot for a leisurely weekend brunch with friends or family.
